1939, and Will and Alice are evacuated to a granite farm perched on the windswept cliffs of Cornwall. There they meet Maggie and enjoy a largely idyllic childhood. But when something devastating happens, it has lasting consequences for them all. Over 70 years on, Alice heads back to the now crumbling farm, determined to atone for her past.
