The book has been developed according to the requirements of CAPS for Grade 1. The book comprises 16 topics as stipulated in CAPS: the language activities relate to the topic and the reading lessons are according to the topic, to the reading level and eye span. The sounds and phonics are explained in detail in the Teacher's Guide.
